The project also included the installation of all mechanical, electromechanical, electrical, control and instrumentation equipment, as well as pre-commissioning and final commissioning activities. The wastewater treatment plant was operated by the project team until permanent handover.

Ilam Gas Refinery Industrial WWTP
Due to the presence of oil at concentrations of approximately 3,482 ppm, API and DAF units are utilized to separate oil and grease and reduce their concentration to approximately 28 ppm in the treated effluent.
The API unit consists of two tanks, each with a capacity of 875 m³, equipped with a stainless-steel bridge mechanism for collecting floating oil.
Sludge and oily sludge generated during the treatment process are also collected by the bridge mechanism. A dedicated oil collection pipe is provided for removing floating oil from the wastewater surface.
Two screw pumps are installed for the collection and transfer of settled sludge.
The wastewater discharged from these units is subsequently conveyed to the aeration and clarification stages.
Following disinfection, the treated effluent can be reused for landscape irrigation or discharged to surface water in accordance with applicable requirements.

Fajr Petrochemical Wastewater Treatment
The industrial and sanitary wastewater generated by Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex, with a total capacity of 30,000 m³/day, enters Manhole A15 and is conveyed by gravity to the Central Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The treatment process is designed for the removal of screenings, oil and grease, and suspended solids. The wastewater passes through a series of treatment units including:
- Screening
- Emergency Storage Tank
- CPI Unit
- Equalization Tank
- Rapid Mixing
- Slow Mixing
- DAF Unit
The wastewater is then transferred to the MBBR biological treatment system and clarification units for further treatment to meet the required discharge standards for surface water.
The treated effluent from the clarification stage is combined with cooling tower blowdown and, when required, raw water. A flow of approximately 40,000 m³/day is then transferred to the UF system, followed by the RO system.
The RO-treated water is stored in a 6,000 m³ storage tank and reused as Process Water within the Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex.

Bandar Imam Petrochemical Central WWTP
The Shahriar Wastewater Treatment Plant was designed and constructed by the company to serve an equivalent population of approximately 242,000, with an average flow rate of 40,000 m³/day.
The main treatment units include:
- Manual Coarse Screens
- Distribution Chamber
- Pumping Station with Archimedean Screw Pumps
- Mechanical Screening
- Grease and Grit Removal Unit
- Parshall Flume
- Equalization Tank
The biological treatment process is based on the SBR (Sequencing Batch Reactor) process.
Four treatment basins were provided for the SBR process, with each basin being filled over a period of approximately 1.5 hours. The aeration phase operates for approximately 2.5 hours using aeration mixers.
The treated effluent is collected and transferred to the settling tank through decanters. The clarified effluent then flows to the UV disinfection unit.
Excess sludge is transferred to a belt thickening system and subsequently to an aerated sludge digestion unit. The final sludge dewatering stage is carried out using belt filter presses.

Shahriar Wastewater Treatment Plant
The Iran Mall Wastewater Treatment Plant has a treatment capacity of 3,030 m³/day.
A portion of the treated wastewater is reused for irrigation, while the remaining portion is used as feedwater for the RO system and subsequently utilized in cooling towers.
The main treatment units include:
- Screening
- Grit and Grease Removal
- Equalization Tank
- Anoxic Biological Treatment
- MBBR
- Clarifier
Following the clarification stage, the treated effluent is divided into two streams.
The stream designated for irrigation is disinfected through chlorination and passed through sand filters before being pumped outside the site.
The second stream is disinfected using UV and chlorine shock dosing, followed by ultrafiltration (UF) before being transferred to the RO unit for further treatment and reuse in the cooling tower system.

Treatment Iran Mall Wastewater Treatment Plant
The Malayer Drinking Water Treatment Plant utilizes a conventional treatment process incorporating rectangular clarifiers.
The treatment plant was designed and constructed with a capacity of 500 L/s (1,800 m³/h), considering a maximum daily demand factor of 1.3, and with a minimum of two parallel process trains.
The main process units include:
- Raw Water Intake & Pre-Sedimentation Basin
- Primary and Final Disinfection
- Rapid Mixing
- Coagulation and Flocculation
- Rectangular Sedimentation Basins
- Filtration
- Filter Backwash Water Recovery System
- Sludge Thickening and Dewatering
- Clear Water Storage Tank
- Pumping Station and Transmission Pipelines
